August was HOT, HOT HOT with great gigs and incredible music!

The highlight, hands down, was the headliner gig at WorkPlay on August 30th. The Sassy Brown BIG Band (Lauren Brown, Glen Butts, Seebie Camp, Chuck King and myself) joined 2BLU & The Lucky Stiffs for a fantastic night of music and camaraderie......

Here are my favorite clips (courtesy of Charlie and Connie Roche!!):

"Something Got a Hold on Me"

"Fever"

"What a Wonderful World" (Chuck and Glen NAILING IT!)

And some of my favorite pics too (thanks to photogs Miranda Oliver and Caroline Wright!!!):

MORE great shows next month, including Daniel Day Gallery/Dream Mecca, Iron City (MAIN STAGE), Champy's in Alabaster to name a few!!

wow......July is FLYING by!!!!!!!!!!

Great gigs this month with so many talented musicians....... and I had the pleasure of playing some incredible venues this month too including: Five in Lakeview, Oasis, Iron City in Birmingham, BIOYOB 5 somewhere in the middle of the country, and of course (kinda our homebase) Champy's in Alabaster.

The highlight of the month though was the debut of three new original songs by The Sassy Brown Band at Iron City during their annual Blues competition. It was an incredible all-original mini-set of new blues tunes from Lauren Harrison Brown, Glen Butts, Seebie Camp and myself. Tell me another blues band in the area that plays more working gigs, has a better fan base, and/or has  the most originality  (no gimmicks)...........

Here's my favorite new Sassy original:

SASSY BROWN BAND - "Street Corner Blues"

Special thanks to the many musicians and club owners who I had a chance to share the love of music with this month, including: Whitney Henson (p.s. she secretly loves PBR), Sterling Gros, Glen Butts, Lauren Harrison Brown, Seebie Camp, Rob Harris, Ford Boswell, Bruce Andrews, George Dudley, Ryan Flynt, Bill Park, Matt Willis and Taylor Hunnicutt.

Also, a special shout-out to the super-fans: Connie and Charlie Roche (who provided the video above and countless other videos you see of The Sassy Brown Band and others...THANK YOU!!), June and Wayne Speedy Harrison, Christine Bartlett, Lisa Rowell Tinney and a whole host of others!!!!
